Bruins stumble, fall to Eagles

The Bear River boys basketball team lost for the first time this season, falling to El Camino, 61-54.

Bear River's Travis Anderson had his best game of the season with 20 points and played solid defense, said Bruin head coach Duwaine Ganskie. Junior point guard Charlie Espinosa also had a strong game with 11 points in the loss.

Bear River will look to find its winning way again Thursday against Valley Christian in the Viking Classic.

The Lady Miners struggled to get anything going Tuesday night against Pleasant Valley, eventually losing by 32 points.

In the loss, Sarah Lundmark played well with 12 points, three steals and two rebounds, and Freshman Madison lee chipped in five points and pulled down four rebounds.

NU hits the court again today against Foothill.

Frosh: Pleasant Valley 35, Nevada Union 14

It just wasn't the Lady Miners night Tuesday as they were blasted by the Lady Vikings in a 21-point romp.

Nevada Union's Rachaiel McKnight led the Lady Miners with eight points and three steals; Melissa Wilcoxen grabbed four rebounds and two steals in the loss. NU faces Casa Roble Thursday in the Bella Vista Tournament.
