Colfax takes down Foothill

Needing another league win to earn a shot at a playoff berth, the Falcons came out ready to play and took down Pioneer Valley League foe Foothill, 56-12.

Back home after a tough two weeks on the road, Colfax earned its second league victory with another monster performance by quarterback Michael Wilson

Wilson completed 14-of-19 passes for 271 yards and five touchdowns, giving him 33 on the season.

The win puts Colfax at 7-1 overall and 2-1 in PVL play. The Falcons hit the road against Placer next week.

Foothill hosts Center next week.

Placer 35, Lincoln 19

Placer took an early lead and did not relent as they piled on the Fighting Zebras late, leading 35-7 at one point.

Despite a 4-4 overall record, Placer is the only unbeaten team in the PVL at 3-0.

The Hillmen will put that record on the line next week when they host Colfax.

Lincoln will try to recover with a win over the slumping Bear River.

Del Oro 30, Granite Bay 28

In a back-and-forth affair between two of the top contenders for the Sierra Foothill League title, it was Del Oro knocking off Granite Bay with a late field goal to stay unbeaten in league play.

After Granite Bay stormed back from a 27-14 deficit with a pair of passing touchdowns to make it 28-27, Del Oro had one last drive.

The Golden Eagles (6-2, 3-0 SFL) drove down the field setting up Mason Humes with a 27-yard field goal attempt for the win. Humes hit the kick, his third of the night, and Del Oro remains at the top of the SFL with Rocklin.
