Training program open to all levels

Trkac Specialty Running Store in conjunction with the Sierra Trailblazers will be hosting a free 10-week training program starting Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Nevada Union High School track.

Everyone is encouraged to join the free 10-week training program and earn a free pedometer by tracking your steps for the next 10 weeks.

This program is designed for all levels of fitness. Are you a sedentary couch potato? Have you ever considered learning how to run? Are you currently a strong runner who just wants to get faster and better? There are coaches and programs for every level.

Group 1 is for walkers. You will learn techniques to become a stronger walker. We will work on leg strength, core strength and stretches.

Group 2 is for folks who want to introduce a little running into their exercise regimen. Let us help you “ease” into running. Gently over the next 10 weeks, we will help you build strength, aerobic capacity and confidence.

Group 3 is for folks who are currently running. Learn how to safely increase your mileage. Have you considered entering races of longer distances — 5K, 10K, ½ marathon, marathon?

Group 4 is for folks who would like to add a day of track workouts to their weekly routine. Warmups, drills, progressions, tempo runs, intervals, fartleks and cool downs. Sound intriguing?
