The Birdies for AnimalSave golf tournament will take place July 27 at the Nevada County Country Club. Gather a group of four for a day of fun, food and prizes and help AnimalSave help the animals.
Organized by Mike and Margie Rademaker, this tourney includes 18 holes of golf, lunch and soft drinks. The four-person scramble will begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.
All players in the tournament will be entered in the hole-in-one contest and have the opportunity to win a four-day vacation to Cancun for two, including a $500-per-person round-trip airfare credit and a three-night stay at the all-inclusive Moon Palace Resort. The trip includes one round of golf per day and round-trip airport transfers.
Other great prizes and raffle items include a golf flag signed by Davis Love III, private wine tastings, a hotel stay at the Mont Bleu, private golf lessons, a health club membership, gift certificates to fine local restaurants and lots more.
Rademaker reports that the course is in great condition and is playing as well as it ever has. NCCC is home to its very own rescue cat, Clubhouse Kitty, who has been begging players for “pets” and giving his very own version of golf tips at the club for years. Make sure you get some good in-“putt” from him while you’re there.
Proceeds from the golf tournament will be donated to AnimalSave to help fund its animal rescue and welfare programs. AnimalSave’s primary programs include the Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic that has altered 9,300 dogs and cats in the past five years and its Foster/Adoption Program that rescues and finds homes for more than 300 dogs and cats each year.
