NCCC holds annual Seniors tourney

Nevada County Country Club hosted its annual Seniors Tournament Saturday. Members had to be at least 50 years young to compete, and flights were determined by age rather than handicap.

In the Regular Senior flight (ages 50-65) Mike Schmidt won in a tie-breaker with a net 62. Second place went to Dan Johnson, also with a net 62. Dan Triano took third (64), followed by Mark Jones (66), Dar Chehrazi (67), Bill Roach and Phil Condict (68). In the Super Seniors flight (ages 66 and up), Jorgen Jensen took the title with a net 63 in a tie-breaker over Dave Hood who finished second (63), followed by Ron Peachee (64), Jay Snyder (65), Bill Fisher (66), Rick Jacob, Elbia Hall and Elmer Stone (68), and Ken Morris and Dave Koslosky (69). In the Ladies flight, Bobbie Heard bested the field with a net 62, followed by Gloria Dalke (67), Mary Deardorff (70), Sherrie Rankin and Maggie Flecksteiner (71).

Closest-to-the-pin contests were won by Jensen, Morris, Peachee and Bonnie Marvelli.
