Soccer is one of the most popular sports in the world, enjoyable to watch and a blast to play. The Gold Country Youth Soccer League is run by volunteers who meet year round with the goal to help the youth in our community to learn to play and enjoy the game of soccer. Playing and practicing soccer is an excellent way to gain and maintain physical fitness. While kids play soccer they walk, jog and run almost constantly. Soccer also promotes flexibility, coordination and muscular endurance.

The 2013 season runs from August to November in 2013, and gives the participant a valuable opportunity to participate in exercise, make new friends, practice teamwork and exercise a positive attitude.

Truly a team sport, parents play an important role in recreational soccer, by encouraging their children to play in a positive manner and by setting an example of sportsmanship by treating players, opponents and officials with respect. Soccer truly is a team sport, extending outside the players.

Recreational soccer can also be used to count toward physical education credits for students who do not have those credits available to them through their High School.

For information about how to register or questions about the season, visit the Gold Country Youth Soccer League website at www.goldcountrysoccer.org or drop by the first registration on May 4, at the Gold Country Youth Soccer league Office, 741 Maltman Drive in Grass Valley.
