After opening the season with 13 wins in 16 tries, the Bear River boys basketball team has fallen on tough times. The Pioneer Valley League has handed the Bruins three straight losses in the early stages of conference play, including a Thursday night loss to Placer, 64-44. Two nights after losing to Colfax, 64-49, the Hillmen (15-5, 2-1 PVL) bounced back and played much better, building a 43-16 halftime lead and never letting Bear River back in it in the second half.
