The Nevada Union wrestling team opened the season with a second-place finish Saturday at the 20- team Vista Del Lago tournament. NU’s Jonny Callas won the tourney’s most outstanding wrestler award, and Will Sumner earned the most pins in least amount of time award. Sumner and Callas took first-place honors along with Sawyer Mosel and Keaton Richards. Other Miner medalists were Kashe McHugh taking third place, Tell Newman placed fifth and Tristan Santos notched a sixth-place finish. NU took only 11 of the 14 weight classes and still took second overall. …
