Merced 12, Bear River 9

After trouncing Turlock in the first round of the Sac-Joaquin Section Division-I girls water polo playoffs, Bear River faltered in the second round, losing to Merced, 12-9.

The Sierra Foothill League champions had a t ough time finding its flow early said Glasgow.

“Today, the stuff we been doing all season, that rhythm with the girls just wasn’t there,” Glasgow said. “They fought back at the end, but we just ran out of time.”

Leading the Lady Bruins was Nicole Groat, Andrea Brock, Beth Nelson and Cindy Solomon, Glasgow said.

“Drea Brock was amazing, Beth Nelson was amazing and Cindy Solomon played her heart out,” She said. “Nine times out of 10 we win that game, but give (Merced) credit, they were well prepared.”
