Olympian Lauren Wenger on hand for Nevada Union Lady Miner win

With Olympic gold medalist Lauren Wenger in attendance, the Nevada Union girls water polo team dominated Roseville 18-5 to move to 6-3 in Sierra Foothill League play. The Miners had little trouble trouncing the Tigers Tuesday, but with Wenger watching from the bleachers, there was definitely a nervousness to the team before the start of the match, said NU coach Craig Zetterberg. Wenger won silver at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and Gold at the 2012 London Games as a defender on the women’s water polo team.
