Police blotter: Woman with an axe, lightning causes fire

11:51 a.m. — A man from the 600 block of LeDuc Street reported being threatened by a roommate. A man was arrested on suspicion of violating probation.

12:03 p.m. — A caller from the 400 block of Colfax Avenue reported a shoplifting incident.

3:51 p.m. — A caller from East Main Street reported four to five people in a physical fight. They were gone when officers arrived.

4:12 p.m. — A caller from the 100 block of East Berryhill Drive reported a man and young girl living in a van. They had just moved to the area and were moving into an apartment tomorrow.

4:44 p.m. — A woman from Plaza Drive reported a man who was bleeding from the lip who said he had been beaten up and tried to get in her car.

6:32 p.m. — A woman from the 700 block of West Main Street reported someone hit her in the head; she did not need medical attention.

At 2:02 p.m., A man reported the woman was tearing up the residence; he said there was an axe in his chair. She said she had the axe in her hand and was not going to let the cops in. She was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance, vandalism, and annoying the 911 system.

12:55 p.m. — A woman from Forest Springs Drive reported a woman threw a phone at her and hit a 1-year-old child. It was a family dispute and was verbal only.

2:03 p.m. — A woman from the 18000 block of Buck Mountain Road reported a fight between a man and a woman.

7:53 p.m. — A caller from the 12000 block of Murphy Road reported a structure fire caused by a lightning strike.
