Vernita Personeni passed away on June 14, 2013, in Grass Valley. She was 87.
There will be a private graveside service for the family on Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Red Men Cemetery in Grass Valley.
A memorial celebration for all friends and family will take place at 1 p.m at the Kentucky Flat Community Center in Nevada City. Please bring a dish to share.
Vernita was born Jan. 3, 1926, in Baker, Ore., to Earl and Pearl Ingram.
On Dec. 15, 1949, she married John Personeni.
She volunteered with many organizations over the years, including the Nevada County Gem and Mineral Society, Pocahontas Lodge and Kentucky Flat Community Center.
Vernita enjoyed being with her family and friends, crocheting, knitting, sewing and traveling in an RV with friends.
Vernita is survived by her children Sharon (Roger) Orzalli of Nevada City, Bill (Paula) Personeni of Reno, Nev., John (Suzanne) Personeni of Georgetown; sister Roberta (Joe) Day of Nevada City; brother-in-law Laurence Personeni of Nevada City; numerous nieces and nephews; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John L. Personeni; parents Earl and Pearl Ingram and her brother Thomas Ingram.
Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of your choice.
Arrangements are in the care of Chapel of the Angels in Grass Valley.
