August 18, 2014
Aron Tobias Bendix passed away on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, in Grass Valley, Calif. He was 37.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation and funeral service for Aron at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, at the Chapel of the Angels Mortuary, 250 Race St., Grass Valley, Calif.
Aron was born in Grass Valley on Sept. 27, 1976, to his mother Delores and his father Garry. He was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, uncle and friend.
Aron’s family moved around a lot before finally settling down in Grass Valley. He was well liked by his teachers and friends, especially the girls.
Many of the friendships that were established in elementary school held strong and still remain today. To his family and friends, Aron was a loyal, trustworthy, and kind addition to their lives.
Within an adventurous childhood, Aron rode BMX bikes, built and raced remote control cars, became an excellent artist, learned to play guitar and in high school joined a band as a bass player.
With his siblings, Aron enjoyed building forts, riding bikes, swimming, skateboarding, and in the winter, snowboarding.
As an adult, Aron worked a variety of jobs including construction with his stepfather, roughnecking in Louisiana on the off-shore drilling rigs, and then in a machine shop after settling back into Grass Valley. During this time, to employ his artistic abilities, Aron also learned the art of tattooing.
All in all, Aron was an adventurous, creative, funny and loving person who was loved unconditionally by his family and friends and who will be dearly missed but never forgotten. We will always remember him with that classic grin on his face.
Aron is survived by his mother Delores “Dee” Martin; father Garry Bendix; sister Dayna Harrison and her husband Reza Rashidian; nephew Caleb Elmore; stepbrother Eric Martin and his wife Zinnia and their son Alonso; stepsister Jessica Priante Martin and her husband Danilo Mischa Matulich; girlfriend Dawn Olson and her children, Shelby, Kendra and Alonso; grandmother Barbara Daniels; beloved dog Harley; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his stepfather J.P. Martin; grandfathers, Gerald Wells, Howard Bendix, and Norman Daniels; grandmother Edna Wells; uncles Tony Wells and Jerry Wells; and his aunt Eloise Wells.
Arrangements are under the care of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary.
