Mark Michael Patrick of Grass Valley, Calif., passed away quietly the morning of Sunday, April 6, 2014. He was 46.
He was born to Michael and Linda Patrick on April 29, 1967, in San Francisco, Calif. Mark grew up in South San Francisco and attended Capuchino High School, graduating in 1986. He married his high-school sweetheart, Laura, in 1996. Together they have two girls he loved with his whole heart.
Mark, a heavy equipment operator, joined Operating Engineers Local 3 Union and worked for Kiewit Pacific for nearly 20 years. He traveled throughout California and Washington on different construction projects, from Level 3 to the Devil Slide Tunnel, operating every conceivable kind of machine. His proudest achievement came when he was made a certified tower crane operator.
Mark loved the simple things in life, like camping and swimming in the river. His best day would include watching a football game, barbecuing tri-tip with ranch beans, corn on the cob and an ice cold beer. Mark had a very approachable and easy going attitude and hilarious mannerisms. His smile lit up a room, and he would always make you feel welcome.
Mark is survived by his loving wife, Laura; children Hailey (15) and Kasey (13); mother, Linda; siblings Kelli and Alan; and his favorite uncle, Jack.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made for Mark's daughters at http://www.gofundme.com/6sqfjc
