Lorraine Vannberg

Lorraine Vannberg died Feb. 22, 2014.

There will be a memorial service at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 12524 Burma Road in Grass Valley, Calif.

She was born Lorraine Faye Polmateer March 15, 1926, to Ruth Oliver and Ted Polmateer in Escanaba, Mich., the oldest of six girls.

Lorraine married Robert Vannberg on Sept. 25, 1948. They had two children and moved to California in 1953. Soon after, Lorraine and Bob were baptized as Jehovah's Witnesses. A highlight of their life was six years as volunteers in Africa, helping build a facility where Bibles and Bible literature are still being printed.

Lorraine's middle name was "hospitality"! Always with a listening ear and never negative, she was everyone's grandma and a hard worker. She had a deep faith in the resurrection and accepted this last journey, at peace with her creator, Jehovah God.

Lorraine is survived by her husband, Robert Vannberg; four sisters; son, David (Rosie) Vannberg and their two children, Darci Vannberg and Courtney Wademan; four great-grandchildren from David's family; and numerous great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Lorraine was predeceased by her parents, a baby sister; and her grandson, James Vannberg.
