Delima W. Hallett passed away Sept. 12, 2013, at Golden Empire Convalescent Hospital. She was 82.
Visitation for family and friends will from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 17, at Hooper & Weaver Mortuary. Graveside services will follow at 11 a.m. at Sierra Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
Delima was born Oct. 2, 1930, in Bangor, Calif. to Leon and Elsie Hedges. She graduated from Nevada City High School in 1948. She worked as a "soda jerk" at Kopp's Bakery, where she met her husband to be, William M. Hallett. They were married on Dec. 14, 1947, at St. Canice Catholic Church in Nevada City. She worked as a county clerk in the Elections Office for many years, retiring in 1980.
She was a member and past president of the Nevada City Fire Department's Ladies Auxiliary and a faithful member of St. Canice Catholic Church. She enjoyed trips to Lake Tahoe and Reno.
She is survived by son Michael Hallett (Pam) of Nevada City and William Hallett of Wyoming; daughters Patricia Fiesel (Michael) of Penn Valley and Victoria Hilstad of Grass Valley; six grandchildren; eleven great- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She's preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother, Delbert Hedges; and her sister, Doris Prewitt.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hooper & Weaver Mortuary.
