Collin Dickey was born March 31, 1995, in Grass Valley, and his life was tragically cut short Aug. 12, 2013, in Grass Valley.
Collin's death has left his family and friends devastated.
A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. Sept. 28 at the Alta Sierra Biblical gardens, 16343 Auburn Road, Grass Valley, Calif.
Collin had graduated from Nevada Union in June and had plans to live in the Tahoe area with friends while working at a ski resort.
While at Nevada Union, Collin was a member of the NU choir all four years and had the opportunity to travel with the choir to eastern Europe this year. While on this trip, Collin celebrated his 18th birthday. Through his choir director, Rod Baggett, Collin learned an appreciation for the history of music.
Besides singing, Collin's other love was the San Francisco Giants. He loved talking everything Giants and catching a game with his Papa Ray. Collin also enjoyed spending countless hours with friends at the Yuba River.
Collin's family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Sutter Roseville Hospital's TNI unit for taking such good care of him. Collin had chosen to be an organ donor, and because of this, he has provided the gift of life to three people across the country.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like contributions be made to the NU Choir Boosters, PO box 744, Grass Valley, CA 95945.
