James David Harbour passed into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, surrounded by his loving family at home where he grew up in Nevada City, Calif.
A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, at First Baptist Church, 1866 Ridge Rd. in Grass Valley, Calif.
Born to Hurlbut H. and Clydith Alyne (Crotts) Harbour on May 1, 1936 in Voila, Ark., Jim was the eldest of five children.
Jim graduated from Nevada City High School in 1954 and joined the U.S. Air Force. During his 22 years with the Air Force and civil service, Jim received many superior and outstanding performance awards. Years later, Jim and his wife Doreen owned and operated J&D Trucking.
Jim loved the Lord with all his heart and shared the good news every chance he got. Jim attended First Baptist Churcg in Grass Valley and Crossroads Church in Yuba City, Calif. He was also a yellow-shirt member with the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief program.
Jim leaves behind his children, Linda Raye Harbour and James D. Harbour Jr. of Nevada City, Katherine Alyne (Edward) Tree of San Gabriel, Calif., and Karen June (Pete) Daley of Marysville, Calif.; step-daughter Larra Siebrecht (Wayne) Cuffley of Eldersburg, Md.; and step-son Scott Simmeroth of Marysville, Calif.
He also leaves behind his sister and brother in-law, Zola and Marvin Rackley of Nevada City; brothers Martin Scott (Vicki) of Yuba City and Roy Lee (Janice) Harbour of Lincoln, Calif. His grandchildren include Mark A. Estrada Jr. of Marysville, Calif., Sammi Jo (Harbour) Reynolds of Albuerque, N.M., Megan Harbour of Marysville, Thomas “TJ” and Emily Tree of San Gabriel, Calif., Lauren and Dalton Charter of Colusa, Calif.; step-grandchildren, Jon Saffley of Los Angeles, Calif., Peter, Alex, Hanna and Peri Daley of Marysville, and Andrew and Rachel Cuffley of Eldersburg, Md.
He was preceded by his parents; sister Betty Faye (Harbour) Warthan; uncle Gawayne Harbour; and wife Doreen McConnell Harbour.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief program.
