Jenny Benschop

Jenny Louise Benschop was born in Java, Indonesia on July 21, 1941

and she died unexpectedly on July 8, 2013 in Sierra Nevada Memorial

Hospital in Grass Valley, California, near her home in the Lake

Wildwood community, where she lived since 2005. Her parents were

Jacques Johan Keasberry and Jane Catherine (Cooke) Keasberry, both

of Dutch-Indonesian descent.

By her side at the time of passing were her two sons Bryan

Benschop and Diron Benschop together with their daughter-in-law

Yvonne Benschop, married to Bryan. Jenny’s brother Richard Paul

Keasberry and his life-partner Lindy Hahn were by her side, as well

as Ron Slatterbeck, Jenny’s life-partner for more than 25 years. Jenny

is survived by five grandchildren whom he cherished deeply: Kevin,

Corey, Amanda, Jordan and Nathan as well as a niece, Mitzi Beach,

and Nephew, Robin Keasberry. Jenny is also survived by her beloved

sister, Therry Keasberry, who has resided in the Tarragona region of

Spain for many years; Therry is joining the family in California during

his time of loss for the next several weeks.

Jenny left Indonesia with her family just after the end of World

War II and then lived in Holland for five years before immigrating

to the United States in 1957. She and her family settle in Pasadena,

California at that time and Jenny was married and raised her family

there. Jenny will be remembered with fondness by all who knew her.

She had a bright, welcoming smile to greet her friends and family,

who mattered above all else, and she was passionate about her dogs.

It is with profound sadness that we say goodbye and we will hold

her in our hearts forever.

Jenny’s ashes will be interred, along with those of her mother who

passed away in July 2004, at Rose Hill Memorial Park, 3888 Workman

Mill Road, Whitter, California on Saturday, July 20th at 11:00 AM.
