Edith Forrest

Edith “Sunny” Forrest died peacefully on April 15, 2013, surrounded by family members at her daughter’s home.

A celebration of Sunny’s life will take place from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., June 22, 2013, at Happy Apple Kitchen, 18532 Colfax Hwy, Grass Valley. If there are any questions, please call Patti at 530-265-6685.

Sunny Forrest was born in San Francisco to Don and Edith Rademaker in 1932. She lived half of her life in the San Francisco Bay Area but always considered Grass Valley her true home. She retired from the Bank of America and Nevada County Social Services.

As her nickname implies, Sunny had a bright disposition. She was sweet and she was also wise and brave. She never let her illnesses eclipse her joy of life. Her sense of humor, friendship and ability to love unconditionally touched those who knew her. She will be remembered for her love of gardening, swimming, reading, learning, chatting and going for rides here, there and everywhere. She was always fun to be around.

She is survived by her daughter, Judith Forrest and son-in-law Chris Chaffin of Mill Valley; nieces, Patti (Dennis) Painter of Nevada City, Stephanie and Lisa Blackwell of Sacramento, Torrey (Greg) Atrian and Krissi (John) Mark of Idaho; nephews, Billy (Pat) Forrest of Montana and Jack Forrest of North Carolina; and numerous very special great-nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Tom Rademaker; sister, Susan Fowser; and son, Rick Forrest.

The family would like to suggest the San Francisco Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park or Grass Valley Music in the Mountains for any donations made in Sunny’s memory, musicinthemountains.org or 530 Searls Ave., Ste A, Nevada City, Calif. 95959. conservatoryofflowers.org or 100 John F.
