Doris C. Trimbath

Doris C. Trimbath passed away March 1, 2013, in Grass Valley, Calif. She was 82.

Funeral Services will take place at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Hooper and Weaver Mortuary, 459 Hollow Way, Nevada City, Calif., with interment immediately following at Greenwood Cemetery, Grass Valley.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013, Bell Road Baptist Church, 707 Bell Road, Auburn, Calif.

Doris was born Nov. 15, 1930, to George and Margaret Colton in Attica, N.Y. She was a health teacher in Buffalo, N.Y. She married Dr. Donald G. Cameron in Buffalo Aug. 22, 1953. They moved to California in 1958 and to Grass Valley in 1974. She was his office manager and nurse in Grass Valley and a registered dental hygienist in Auburn, Grass Valley and Yuba City for more than 20 years.

Doris married Byron Hall Nov. 18, 1995, at NAS Alameda, Calif. She married Donald L. Trimbath Nov. 21, 2003, in West Mifflin, Pa. Doris was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She was a charter member of Combie Bible Church. A strong believer in the value of Christian education, she was an ardent advocate for and benefactor of Forest Lake Christian School. She was an active member of the Nevada County Republican Women and, with husbands Byron Hall and Donald Trimbath, of the Golden Gate and Sacramento Valley chapters of the American Merchant Marine Veterans Association.

Doris was instrumental in the construction of the Merchant Mariners Memorial at the Tower Bridge in Sacramento and in securing a place for Merchant Mariners alongside other combat veterans at the WWII Memorial in Washington, D.C.

She is survived by her husband, Donald L. Trimbath; son Scott Donald Cameron; daughter-in-law April Cameron; grandchildren Mathew, Autumn, Donald, Elizabeth, Joshua and Rachel.

Preceded in death by husbands Dr. Donald G. Cameron (1987) and Byron H. Hall (2001); brothers Wilbert, Alfred, Richard and Irving Colton; sisters Margaret Chapman, Ida Sprott and Verna Pfuntner.
