On Feb. 14, 2013, Lillian Jessie Edmiston was reunited with her adoring brother and sister, Ian and Moira Banks; loving husband, Glen Edmiston; devoted daughter, Eileen Blake and beautiful great-granddaughter, Paige Haley.
The family invites friends and loved ones for a celebration of her life at 4 p.m. on March 1, 2013, at Christopher’s Old World Deli, 206 W. Main St, Grass Valley.
Lillian was born on May 9, 1930, to John and Elizabeth Banks in Sacramento, Calif. She spent the beginning years of her life in Oakland and later moved to Capitola.
Lillian moved to Nevada City with her son and daughter in 1954 where she worked at the Pacific Bell Phone Company. On June 10, 1966, she married the love of her life, Glen Edmiston. They moved to Alleghany where Glen was the principal of Alleghany High School.
Lillian played a big part in the community as a founding member of the Mother’s Club. Glen and Lillian later moved to Live Oak where Glen took a position as principal at Live Oak High School. After Glen retired in 1990, they moved to Camptonville to be closer to their grandchildren. Lillian was passionate about bowling, singing, playing piano, her friends and her family.
She is survived by her son, Ian Haley; step-daughters, Linda, Chris and Teri Edmiston; nieces, Victoria and Heather Banks; nephew, Craig Banks; and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is loved and will always be missed.
