Darlene Rachel Palmer Miyasato passed away on Jan. 23, 2013, in Camptonville, Calif. She was 57.
A celebration of life will take place from noon-3 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at the L.O.V.E Building, Condon Park, 660 Minnie St., Grass Valley.

Darlene was born on Jan. 12, 1956, in Norfolk, Va. She moved to Grass Valley in 1970. She graduated from Nevada Union High School in 1975. Darlene married her beloved husband, Frank Miyasato in 1983. She enjoyed life and loved raising her family. She loved camping at Bullards Bar and Gold Lake.
She enjoyed summertime swimming in the Yuba River and Oregon Creek. She was always hunting for the perfect heart rock. Darlene was a resident of Camptonville for 20 years. She pursued her career in the medical field and was a caregiver for 25 years; she loved her job.
She also loved walking weekly. Darlene always gave an abundance of TLC to many Grass Valley residents. She was known as an “angel on Earth”. She found peace in gardening and enjoyed bowling and barbecues with family and friends. You’d find her singing/dancing everywhere she went.
She traveled many miles on her motorcycle with her husband, always together like two peas in a pod. They shared 33 years together. Her big-hearted soul, sweet personality and glowing smile won’t be forgotten by her children, husband and everyone she touched tenderly.
Darlene is survived by her husband, Frank Miyasato; children, Shawn, Marcus, Lydia Miyasato; and Tim Francis; siblings, Deloris Mace and Roy Palmer; grandchildren, Riely, Peyton, Everett Miyasato, Samantha, Sterling Francis.
