Terry Hall passed away Jan. 26, 2013, in Grass Valley, Calif. She was 86.
Funeral services will take place at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at All Saints Chapel, Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Los Altos, Calif. The Rev. Ben Ferguson will officiate. A celebration of Terry’s life will take place near her Grass Valley home in approximately one month. Notice will be posted in this paper.
She was born Feb. 28, 1926, in Krum, Texas, to Bunyan and Margaret Hall. Orphaned as a young child, Terry was raised in Oklahoma by her beloved grandmother, aunt and uncles. She grew up to become a fiercely independent young woman whose work ethic, honesty, curiosity, love of learning and joy in living came to define her. She lived by the motto, “Eat dessert first!”
Terry married Roy Hall in 1948 in Reno, Nev., following a Christmas-time romance. The couple remained together for 65 years! Her friends and family knew her to be a loyal and cheerful companion who could make friends everywhere she traveled. She leaves a void that we cannot fill. Terry’s hobbies included bridge, camping, gardening, reading and beachcombing, and she loved to travel. She was a member of many organizations, including AAUW, DAR, Welcome Wagon First Alumni, Book Notes book club, Wagon Wheelers RV Club, AAUW Gardening Group and Golden Empire Sam’s RV Club.
Terry is survived by her husband, Roy Hall; daughter Randy (Al) Hall of Seattle; son Steven (Rochelle) Hall of San Jose and Carmel; granddaughters Shana Hall of Durham, N.C., and Kaeli Hall of Davis, Calif.; grandson Jacob (Audrey) Hall of Santa Monica, Calif.; nephews, nieces and their family in Texas and Oklahoma.
She is preceded in death by her son, Larry Hall, in 1986.
All arrangements are being handled by Hooper and Weaver.
