Ammie Hope Emmert passed away Nov. 1, 2012, in Grass Valley, Calif. She was 74.
Graveside services will take place at 2 p.m., local time, Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at Colonial Gardens in Marshall, Texas.
Ammie was born July 16, 1938, in Marshall Texas to John Wesley Baker Sr. and Valrie Baker. She attended Marshall High School and Centenary College and graduated from DeAnza College in Cupertino, Calif. On Aug. 14, 1960, she married James Fredrick Emmert at the Second Baptist church of Marshall. Hope worked for Sam Della Maggiore. She was later the recreation director of the Sunnyvale Convalescent Hospital in Sunnyvale, Calif. Hope was a member and past president of the De Oro Club of Cupertino, Alto Alphas of Mountain View, Calif., and the Union Church of Cupertino. Upon her husband’s retirement in 2001, they moved to Nevada City, Calif., where she lived for many years.
Hope is survived by her husband and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Valrie (Coleman) Baker, father John Wesley and brother John Wesley Baker Jr.
