Brayton Campbell Hahn II was born to Gladys Josewski and Brayton Hahn in San Francisco Calif. on Nov. 14, 1929. He was raised in Oakland, Calif., where he lived during his early years from elementary through high school. He attended San Jose State University and spent his summers working for the U.S. Forest Service.
These were without a doubt, the happiest days of his life, where he discovered his great love for the mountains. He married Betty Terzian on May 2, 1954, in Oakland, Calif. Then, First Lieutenant Hahn and his young bride were deployed to France for three years. Returning to the U.S., he continued his schooling, and became an Industrial Engineer.
He and Betty moved to Nevada County where they have lived for 29 years.
Brayton is survived by his wife, Betty, aka Sweets, and their three children, Scott and Luann Hahn, Lisa and Jim Mansfield, and Randall Hahn; sister, Barbara and husband Alan Purchase; grandchildren, Karin, Melissa and Brayton Hahn, and Kristin and Lauren Mansfield. He also leaves behind his longtime friend from kindergarten, Harvey Segall.
He has left countless happy memories and is already very deeply missed by all of us. Betty and the family gratefully thank Dr. William Newsom for his many years of care and friendship.
