Neal Brunckhorst died March 18 at his home in Lake Wildwood after a long battle with cancer. He was 75 years old.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 3:30 to 7 p.m. on April 26 at Lake Wildwood’s Oak Room. Please no flowers, donations sent to Hospice of the Foothills or The American Cancer Society.
Neal was born to Ordway F. Brunckhorst and Marian V. (Kinne) on June 7, 1938. He was a graduate of San Jose State University, and received a master’s degree at St Mary’s. He was a Navy Veteran and Master Mason.
He worked all his life in the food industry as a spice buyer, ending a long career as Director of Material Services for Flavorite in Horn Lake, Miss. He retired in 2000 in Lake Wildwood. He was a member and treasurer of Gold Country Fly Fishers, director and photographer for ASTA and a member of Federation Fly Fishers. He loved to fish, play golf and woodwork.
He was married for 50 years to Anne (Applegate). He is survived by his wife, Anne; two sons and daughter-in-laws, Brian and May (Duong) and David and Heather (Green); five grandchildren, Brooke, Brandon, Brittany, Chase and Bryce and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Barry, Bob and Laurie (Willet).
Arrangements are under the care of Chapel of the Angels Mortuary in Grass Valley.
