Rose Vignal celebrated her 100th birthday on August 28 in her Grass Valley home with three generations of her family present. Her long-time friend, Andrea was also there to celebrate.
Mayor Dan Miller presented Vignal with a proclamation of her 100th year, reading aloud the highlights of her very full life. Though quite hard-of-hearing, Vignal listened attentively to the Mayor’s words nodding and smiling at memories he revived.
Representing Gold Country Community Services’ board of directors, treasurer Tom Brown congratulated Vignal on “achieving such a rich life.” She received a hand-made card signed by all the drivers who deliver Rose’s Meals-on-Wheels lunches.
