Accomplished photographer David Wong, a board member of the Community Asian Theatre of the Sierra, or CATS, will be leading a Photography and Tour of Locke tomorrow. The Chinese built this Sacramento Delta town during the turn of the 20th Century when nearby Walnut Grove burned down.
It was built by the Chinese for the benefit of the Chinese only. Today, its structures are barely standing, the Chinese are gone, and it is considered to be a town “frozen in time.” Participants will walk through this historic town with cameras in tow while Wong does a walking photography workshop. Wong will be on hand to answer questions regarding photography, helping participants learn to take better photos. A CATS enrichment program, the tour is guided by a trained docent from the Locke Foundation. The event is tomorrow, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost is $80. Bus transportation from Grass Valley and a Chinese lunch is included. All levels of photographers welcome — or just come for the tour and lunch.
