Prep roundup: NU, FLC Bear River baseball all tally wins

The Bear River baseball team got a gem from Andrew Reiss on the mound and it led to an 8-1 home victory over last season’s Pioneer Valley League champ, Placer. Reiss pitched a complete game one-hitter Thursday at Bear River, leaving Hillman batters frustrated. The senior pitcher went seven innings, allowing an unearned run while striking out six and walking one. On the day, Reiss allowed only four Hillman base runners and didn’t give up a hit until the sixth inning. On the offensive side the Bruins tallied nine hits and scored eight runs.
