Auburn antique show to benefit Placer County Library


Western states exhibitors will take part in Twin Bridges’ Annual Antiques Show and Sale benefitting the Placer County Library from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on February 23 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Feb. 24 at the Gold Country Fairgrounds in Auburn. Funds raised by this event are used to purchase new materials for the library, such as books, books-on-tape, videos, and CD’s. Almost $16, 000 has been raised to date for the Placer County Library through this event.

Collectors attending the Gold Country Fair Show will discover a wide selection of quality merchandise from the Victorian period through the 1980’s. Major exhibits will include an outstanding selection of glass, china, porcelains and pottery; vintage and estate jewelry; sterling flatware pattern matching; primitives and American country; watches and accessories; dolls, linens, textiles, buttons, coins and wine collectibles; American Indian; paintings, paper collectibles and vintage baseball cards; Christmas and Halloween; and American and European Furniture and furnishings.

Celebrity appraiser Steven Yvaska of San Jose, “The Antiques Adviser” invites collectors to bring their favorite family heirlooms or latest garage sale finds for verbal identification and evaluation for $5 per item from 11 a,n, to 4 p.m. daily.

Food and Beverage Service will be provided by We Cook For You, a Nonprofit Service Organization from Chico.

Admission to the Gold Country Antiques Show and Sale will be $5 with free return and free parking both days. The show will take place in the Armory Building at the Gold Country Fairgrounds, located at 1273 High Street in Auburn. To reach the Fairgrounds from I-80 east, exit Maple Street or from I-80 west, exit Old Town/Fairgrounds, continue into Old Town Auburn and follow Sacramento Street to Fairground Parking.
