Americans for Safe Access-Nevada County to host free screening of 'What if Cannabis Cured Cancer'

In recognition of National Medical Marijuana Week, Americans for Safe Access-Nevada County is hosting a free screening of the provocative film, “What if Cannabis Cured Cancer,” from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the Odd Fellows Hall in Nevada City.

The film summarizes the research findings of recent years about the cancer-protective effects of novel compounds in marijuana.

Writer and Director Len Richmond will be a guest on KVMR’s Cannabis Crusades program at noon Friday to discuss the making of “What if Cannabis Cured Cancer.”

The screening will be followed by a panel of patients who have successfully treated their cancers with cannabis. Pediatric palliative care expert Shannon Snow will document her fight to treat her minor son’s cancer with cannabis, which resulted in the Nick Snow Children’s Hospice and Palliative Care Act.
