Unity in the Gold country

Nevada City United Methodist Church

On a 5th Sunday of the month, we have one combined worship service at 10 a.m.. Since this Sunday is a 5th Sunday, the 10 a.m. music for the service will be presented by our praise band led by David Lynn. Following the service, our Hospitality Team will be preparing and serving lunch. Sunday School will be held during the service with loving childcare all morning.

First Baptist Church, Grass Valley

“Running the Race” is the title of the new sermon series beginning this Sunday at First Baptist! As we begin 2013, we’re going to be challenged with a message titled “Choosing to Enter the Race.” Traditional service at 9 a.m. features a mix of praise songs and hymns in traditional setting. Sunday School for Adults, youth, children, & preschoolers is provided. Contemporary service 11 a.m. features upbeat praise music. Join us Wednesdays beginning January 9th for dinner at 4:45 to 6 p.m. in the Upper Fellowship Hall. Prayer, Bible Studies, Children’s activities & youth group follow. Celebrate Recovery, a Christ based 12-Step program meets in the Lower Fellowship Hall beginning January 2 at 6:30 p.m.

Sierra Center for Spiritual Living

Brother, can you spare an ... hour?

A group of local men meets from 6 to 7 a.m. Thursdays at Penny’s Diner for breakfast. Under the banner of “Christian Business Men’s Committee,” we have breakfast, read a portion of scripture, share what God has done in our life and pray. As a welcome break between weekends, these men encourage each other as they wish to encourage you in these trying times. Pray Nevada County

We are seeking God on behalf of our communities. Open to all for Christian prayer, Pray Nevada County meets each Tuesday from noon to 1 p.m. to pray for our county governments and services, schools and families, businesses and media, and churches and parachurch ministries.  Since August 1997, 15 to 25 people from eight to 12 congregations have met each week to pray for our communities. In the month of November, we will be meeting at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Church Street, Grass Valley.

Grass Valley AM AGLOW

We are a local chapter of Aglow International, meets the second Tuesday of every month from 9:45 a.m. to noon at 336 Crown Point Circle, Grass Valley. Aglow is a wonderful opportunity for unity in the Body of Christ and is not “just for women” anymore!  Take Brunswick Road to Whispering Pines Lane, left on Crown Point Circle and then right @ Nevada County Board of Realtors.

The Healing Rooms of Nevada County

We pray for healing of body and spirit. Everyone is welcome whether they attend church or not. Hope Bearers

We are a Christian cancer support group that meets at Foothill Church. Those with serious chronic illnesses, including cancer, and their care givers are encouraged to come and share in a safe environment concerning this difficult time. Mountain Stream Meditation Center

Our Buddhist Insight Meditation group meets Mondays, 7:30 to 9 p.m., at Wild Mountain Yoga Center, 574 Searls Ave., Nevada City.

The Palestine-Israel Working Group of Nevada County (PIWG)

We advocate for human rights, equality and justice for all in Palestine and Israel. We meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Peace Center of Nevada County, 216 B Main Street, Nevada City. PIWG sponsors the Women and Men in Black vigil Thursdays, 5:15 to 6 p.m. on the Broad Street bridge in Nevada City. We vigil to in support of the Women in Black in Israel, who founded the movement in 1988. All who support human rights and justice for all in Palestine and Israel are welcome to join the vigil. Unitarian Universalist Community in the Mountains

Twin Cities Church

Join us Sunday as we continue our series “Living In The Light.” The message this week is “Longing For The Light.” Twin Cities Church meets Sundays at 8,, 9:35, and 11:15 a.m. at 11726 Rough & Ready Highway. Church of the Essence

Come and join our spiritual gatherings. We are open to the public and would love to have you join us.
