The majority of Nevada County offices will close Dec. 24 and remain closed through Jan. 1 in observance of the December holidays and previously announced furlough days, according to a news release. The furlough days are non-compensated and were negotiated with county labor unions as a way to save money during a time of significant revenue decline, said Nevada County CEO Rick Haffey. “The county worked hard to keep the number of days to a minimum,” Haffey said.
