Beatles music concert coming to vets building

Sponsored by SPD Markets and produced by Starbright Productions of Grass Valley, the veterans building will be the site of a Beatles Music Concert Nov. 10. The band’s name is Because, now in its 10th year.

“I am so excited to bring this incredible band to Grass Valley,” said Starbright owner John Zurflueh. “I met the band earlier this year and was very impressed and believe they are as good as any Beatles band around. That’s really saying something, and we are lucky to have them in the Sacramento area. They are looking forward to playing here.”

The band had a concert in Paradise in August, and Zurflueh said he was amazed by the different generations at the show.

“We had grandparents bringing their kids and grandkids, parents bringing their teenage kids — so it probably covered four generations,” he said. “The result? Everyone loves the Beatles and had a great time at a live stage performance.”

The concert will feature more than 30 songs and will begin with songs from the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964, then into the Sgt. Peppers era and throughout their music careers, including period outfit changes.

The Sierra Nevada Community Health Plan will run the bar. Doors open at 7, show begins at 8 p.m. at the Grass Valley Veterans Memorial Building, 255 South Auburn St. in Grass Valley. For information, call (530) 273-5486 or visit
