The Nevada County Land Trust is offering one of its most popular treks, Chalk Bluff, on Sunday, April 17.The strenuous all-day trek begins at 9 a.m. and will be led by geologist David Lawler.The Chalk Bluff Ridge contains one of the premier fossil plant sites of the world. The area offers rare geological formations, hanging gardens, remains of a petrified forest - and is historically rich, containing remnants of the Emigrant Trail, Native American habitat sites, and a rich gold mining history.
