Tickets on sale for “Upcycle” youth arts fundraiser

Celebrating almost one hundred years of Modern Art's use of the "found object" as an art form as well as using the important aspects of repurposing unwanted items, the Gold Country Kiwanis is presenting an art show and auction to benefit its foundation to sponsor youths arts programs in Nevada County. This year the them of "Upcycle" will incorporate found and recycled product creating art sculptures and wall pieces for interior and exterior display. Along with the auction, great sumptuous appetizers by Antonio's and wine a talk will be given by two great Upcycle artists Bill deGroot and Rock Meade, both artists in Nevada County. Along with these artists others artists participating in this show include Corisa Cobden, Francene Holland, Sandy Davis, Mona Matthais, Spencer McClay, Jerianne van Dijk and many more.
The event will start promptly at 6 p.m. on May 17 at a warehouse, 1415 Whispering Pines Lane. Auctioneer John Renwick will move through each lot until its conclusion. Live music and tasty foods catered by Antonio's will be circulated throughout the audience during the event. Tickets can be purchased at Briar Patch, Java Johns, The Book Seller or by credit card purchase with will call by calling 530-277-2787.
