Auburn Ski Club open house Oct. 26
October 17, 2013
The Auburn Ski Club will begin an 85th season of winter sports with an open house at its Donner Summit Training Center facility, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Oct. 26.
The public and returning members are invited to attend and learn about the season's programs. From 9 a.m. to noon, coaches and staff will be on hand to talk about 2013-14 programs, equipment and more. There will be handout materials and videos featuring programs for those as young as age 4.
Throughout the morning there will be an informal equipment swap meet where members and guests can buy, sell and trade equipment. Later in the morning, coaches will break into program groups to meet with team members and parents to talk about the coming season plans. Cross-country season trail passes and club memberships will also be on sale. During the winter months, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Wednesday through Sunday, the ASC grooms 20 kilometers of cross country ski trails that are open to members and the public. Trails offer scenic views of Castle Peak and sweeping views of Donner Summit from the Crater Lake trail.
The ASC Training Center and programs are open to everyone. Throughout the season clinics, programs and activities provide winter fun for the whole family.
