Mud closes part of Rock Creek Road

The recent rainstorms caused a slight “mudslide” that closed Rock Creek Road from Hudson Way to North Bloomfield Road as of Tuesday morning.

The rains have made the dirt road too slippery to be safe, said Steve Castleberry, an engineer in the Nevada County Public Works Department.

Castleberry said he hoped to have a crew re-grading the road today in order to have it open by the weekend. Until then, access to that area will be via Lake Vera Purdon Road.
