SIERRA ROADWORK SCHEDULE

Sept. 8-14

LONG-TERM PROJECTS

State Route 49 (Nevada County) work has resumed on the $29 million Highway 49/La Barr Meadows Project that will widen State Route 49 to four lanes between Little Valley Road and Norambagua Way, just south of Grass Valley. The project includes a signalized intersection at La Barr Meadows Road, widening of shoulders, adding right- turn pockets and new sound walls. Completion is expected in September 2013. No Traffic interfering work is scheduled.

Interstate 80 (Placer and Nevada counties) from Carpenter Flat to Hampshire Rock: Work continues on the $105 million Emigrant Gap project on Interstate 80. Work includes total roadway replacement with Portland Cement Concrete, improving the drainage systems and installing new sediment/debris collection systems. Completion is expected in October of 2013.

Sept. 9-13

Interstate 80 (Placer and Nevada County) from Cisco Grove to Yuba Gap: Motorists can expect various east and westbound lane and ramp closures from 10 p.m. Sunday through noon Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do miscellaneous maintenance work. No two consecutive ramps will be closed at a time to allow for local access.

SHORT-TERM PROJECTS

State Route 20 (Nevada County) from the Bear River to Interstate 80: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls in various locations from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do drainage work.

State Route 20 (Nevada County) from Pet Hill to Uren Street: Motorists can expect intermittent east and westbound lane and ramp closures from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. Sunday through Saturday. A contractor is scheduled to grinding and paving work. No two consecutive ramps will be closed at one time to allow for motorist access.

State Route 49 (El Dorado and Placer counties) from State Route 193 in Cool to the Bear River Bridge: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Thursday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous maintenance work.

State Route 49 (Placer County) from Palm Avenue to Nevada Street/Margurit Mine in Auburn: Motorists can expect the southbound #2 and right shoulder closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Wednesday. A contractor is scheduled to do utility work.

State Route 49 (Nevada County) from Oak Tree Road to the Middle Fork American River Bridge: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do utility work.

State Route 49 (Sierra County) from Hill Street to Alleghany Street: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do crack sealing.

State Route 49 (Sierra and Yuba counties) from Coyoteville to Howard Creek: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous maintenance work.

Interstate 80 (Sierra and Nevada counties) from the Nevada State line to Floriston: Motorists can expect the westbound #2 from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do slide removal.

Interstate 80 (Nevada County) from Vista Point to the Agriculture Inspection Station: Motorists can expect the east and westbound #1 lanes closed from midnight to noon Monday through Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do drainage work.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) from State Route 193 to Gold Run: Motorists can expect various east and westbound lane closures from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous maintenance work.

State Route 174 (Placer County) from the Nevada County line to Main Street in Colfax: Motorist can expect one-way traffic controls in various locations from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday through Thursday. A contractor is scheduled to do paving work.

State Route 193 (Placer County) from Taylor Road to Main Street in Newcastle: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 8:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday. A contractor is scheduled to do utility work.
