'Girlie' looking for loving home

Girlie, a happy-go-lucky Golden Retriever/German shepherd mix was recently rescued from death row at the Sacramento City shelter. She is 2 years old, 56 pounds, playful and energetic; she’s good with dogs of all sizes; not good with cats. ‘The Nest’ launches website

The Nest website has launched, offering an online resource for growing families.

The website offers information on classes from preconception through parenting as well as support groups, forums and breastfeeding resources all beginning in August. Word on additional events is in the works, such as a grand opening, Home Birth Info Night, birth stories circles and parenting workshops.

“Our program is as enriching as our community. We are so lucky to be surrounded by amazing talent!” proprietor Katie DaMota said in a news release.

The Nest’s classroom can be rented by the hour, half day or full day. A consult room is also available for rent by the half or full day.
