Survey seeks to assess health care needs

Western Sierra Medical Clinic is conducting a multi-county survey to identify the most important health issues within our region and is asking community members to take a brief 10-question online survey.

The health care survey will assess the availability of medical, dental and specialty services, the biggest barriers to receiving health care and the most pressing health issues facing our community.

Information collected from the survey will be used in a larger Community Needs Assessment being conducted by the health center, which will be used to make decisions about the expansion of health and preventive care services and help to ensure health care access to individuals of all income or insurance levels.

Western Sierra Medical Clinic is a Federally Qualified Health Center providing primary health care, dental care, maternal health, counseling and comprehensive health education programs to more than 10,000 patients each year.

Eligible survey participants are adults age 18 and older, living or working within Nevada, Sierra and eastern Yuba counties. The survey will be open through May 31 and can be found on the health center’s home page at http://wsmcmed.org.

Individuals may enter to win a $50 gift grocery store gift card at the completion of the survey, and one winner will be drawn June 5. Only one survey is permitted per person.

WSMC is a nonprofit community health center with the mission of ensuring that every person, regardless of his ability to pay, has access to quality health care. For information about Western Sierra Medical Clinic, visit http://wsmcmed.org.
