Funding sought for canine surgery

Scooter’s Pals, a dog rescue founded in 2008, has three rescued dogs that need the community’s help.

Over 1,500 dogs have been rescued from high-kill shelters by Scooter’s Pals. Sometimes the dogs have health problems that need attention and require substantial funding, beyond the money raised through the $200 adoption fee, even with generous discounts from local veterinarians. That is the case this month, as two dogs need surgery and another is awaiting a procedure.

The first dog is “Inky,” a charming black Shitzu with a kidney stone the size of a golf ball. It was removed and Inky will be ready for adoption soon. Then there is “Lil Girl,” whose world changed when her owner passed away. Scooter’s Pals stepped up to take her and a foster owner discovered an oral infection in her mouth and requiring many teeth pulled. She is healing now and will be ready for a new owner soon.

Then there is “Evo,” whose shoulder is not attached to his rib cage. The surgery to fix this will be $1,000. Evo is on pain medication while Scooter’s Pals seeks funding.

Those interested in helping Scooter’s Pals with these costs may donate to Scooter’s Pals, P.O. Box 1687, Cedar Ridge, CA. 95924.
