Sierra roadwork schedule Feb. 18-23

Long-term projects

State Highway 49 (Nevada County): Work has resumed on the $29 million Highway 49/La Barr Meadows Project that will widen State Route 49 to four lanes between Little Valley Road and Norambagua Way just south of Grass Valley. The project includes a signalized intersection at La Barr Meadows Road, widening of shoulders, right-turn pockets and new sound walls. Completion is expected by spring 2013. No traffic-interfering work is scheduled.

Interstate 80 (Placer and Nevada Counties) from Carpenter Flat to Hampshire Rock: Work continues on the $105 million Emigrant Gap project on Interstate 80. Work includes total roadway replacement with Portland Cement Concrete, improving the drainage systems and installing new sediment/debris-collection systems. Completion is expected in the fall of 2013. No traffic-interfering work is scheduled.

Short-term projects

State Route 20 (Nevada County) from Yuba County line to Squirrel Creek Bridge: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do utility work.

State Route 20 (Nevada County) from the El Dorado County line to Placer County line: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls in various locations from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday to Friday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do tree work.

State Route 20 (Nevada County) from Bank Street to Bennett Street: Motorists can expect east and westbound No. 2 lanes closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do miscellaneous maintenance work.

State Route 49 (El Dorado and Placer Counties) from the Bear River Bridge to State Route 193 in Cool: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls in various locations from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous work.

State Route 49 (Sierra County) from Union Flat Campground to Marysville Road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous maintenance work.

State Route 49 (Nevada County) from Combie Road/Wolf Road to the Middle Fork Yuba River Bridge: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do tree work.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) from State Route 193 to Gold Run: Motorists can expect various eastbound and westbound lane closures from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous maintenance work.

State Route 174 (Placer County) from Interstate 80 to the Nevada County line: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous maintenance work.
