TAHOE/TRUCKEE — A 4.0 magnitude earthquake that struck overnight about a half hour south of Lake Tahoe is the largest in a series of small temblors that have recently occurred throughout the region, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The 4.0 quake shook at a depth of 8.1 miles at 12:21 a.m. Thursday, according to USGS, roughly 13 miles from Markleeville and 32 miles south of South Lake Tahoe. There were no injuries reported.
