The fourth annual Jim Rogers Memorial Ride will kick off at 11 a.m. Feb. 9 at the Tour of Nevada City Bicycle Shop at 457 Sacramento St. in Nevada City. Rogers was a prominent bicyclist in Nevada County and was killed Jan. 31, 2010, by a driver while riding his bike on Highway 174, as previously reported by The Union. Rogers helped establish the bicycle shop where the event is taking place. A bicycle benefit lunch also will be offered as a way to support youth bicycling groups in Nevada County.
