An Elk Grove man who was the subject of the state’s first-ever Silver Alert was found safe and sound by a Grass Valley Police officer before dawn Wednesday. The Elk Grove Police Department had asked for the community’s help in locating Robert Grappi, 82, who suffers from medical conditions requiring regular medication, as well as possible dementia. Grappi had taken off after a verbal argument with his wife at about 3:30 p.m. and was believed to be driving to his son’s residence on Casci Road in Nevada County.
