Salvation Army needs a little holiday help

While the Grass Valley Salvation Army is experiencing its best year of volunteers support with bell ringers outside grocery stores and other foot-traffic heavy places, the service organization still needs plenty of help in other areas before Christmas. “We need turkeys really bad because the demand has gone up hugely,” said Major Martha Sheppard of the Grass Valley Salvation Army, The organization needs at least 100 to 150 more donated turkeys, hams or other holiday meats in order to provide struggling area families with a Christmas meal, Sheppard said.
