With Thanksgiving fast approaching, local organizations are finding ways to help the community with meals for the holiday. Rainbow Market, at 16797 Highway 49 in Nevada City, will be giving out free, cooked Thanksgiving meals from noon to 3 p.m. Thursday, according to store owner Jeff Rutherford. “We make hot, ready-to-eat meals people can pick up,” Rutherford said. Local community group Women of Worth lost its sponsor for Thanksgiving Day meals, so Rainbow will be making extra meals this year, Rutherford said. “Last year we made 80-something,” Rutherford said. “We will be making a lot this year, closer to 200.” …
