Sierra roadwork schedule


LONG-TERM PROJECTS

State Highway 49 (Nevada County) Work has resumed on the $29 million Highway 49/La Barr Meadows Project that will widen State Route 49 to four lanes between Little Valley Road and Norambagua Way, just south of Grass Valley. The project includes a signalized intersection at La Barr Meadows Road, widening of shoulders, right-turn pockets and new sound walls. Completion is expected by fall 2012.

Oct. 14-18

On Highway 49 from Pingree Road to Cornette Way: Motorists can expect various lanes closures and/or one-way traffic controls from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday. A contractor is scheduled to do paving work.

Interstate 80 (Placer and Nevada Counties) from Carpenter Flat to Hampshire Rock: Work continues on the $105 million Emigrant Gap project on Interstate 80. Work includes total roadway replacement with Portland Cement Concrete, improving the drainage systems and installing new sediment/debris collection systems. Completion is expected in the fall of 2013. Motorists are reminded that this construction zone is posted at 55 mph and there is a “no passing zone.”

Oct. 14–20

On westbound Interstate 80 at State Route 20: Motorists can expect the westbound off-ramp closed from September 25 through Oct. 20. A contractor is scheduled to do miscellaneous construction work. A detour is available.

Oct. 15–18

On westbound Interstate 80 from Yuba Gap to Rainbow: Motorists can expect various eastbound lane and ramp closures from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 6 a.m. to noon Friday. Motorists can also expect traffic to be shifted to two 11-foot lanes. A contractor is scheduled to do paving operations.

SHORT-TERM PROJECTS

State Route 20 (Nevada County) from the Yuba County line to Interstate 80: Motorists can expect intermittent one-way traffic controls from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous maintenance work.

State Route 20 (Nevada County) from Bennett Street to the Yuba County line: Motorists can expect the #2 lane and right shoulder closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. A utility contractor is scheduled to do shoulder work.

State Route 49 (El Dorado and Placer Counties) from State Route 193 to Bear River Bridge: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls at various locations from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. A Caltrans Crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous maintenance work.

State Route 49 (Nevada County) from Pekolee Road to Coyote Street: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Wednesday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled for paving.

State Route 49 (Placer County) from the South Fork Dry Creek to the North Fork Dry Creek: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday through Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do bridge work.

State Route 49 (Sierra County) from Ramshorn Tract Road to Goodyear Creek Road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled for grinding and paving.

State Route 49 (Sierra County) from Wild Plum Road to the Rest Area: Motorists can expect intermittent one-way traffic control from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. A contractor is scheduled to remove slide material.

Interstate 80 (Nevada County) State Route 89 south to Floriston: Motorists can expect intermittent east and westbound lane closures from 6 p.m. Sunday through noon Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do bridge work.

Interstate 80 (Nevada County) at State Route 267/State Route 89N: Motorists can expect various westbound lane closures from 4 p.m. to 5 a.m. (8 a.m. Saturday) Monday through Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do miscellaneous bridge work.

Interstate 80 (Nevada County) from the Placer County line to the Donner Lake under-crossing: Motorists can expect various east and westbound lane closures from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous maintenance work.

Interstate 80 (Placer and Nevada Counties) from Alta to the South Yuba River: Motorists can expect various east and westbound lane closures from 9 p.m. Sunday to 11 a.m. Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do grinding operations.

Interstate 80 (Nevada County) at the Donner Summit Rest Area: Motorists can expect various westbound lanes closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to pour concrete.

Interstate 80 (Nevada County) at Donner Park: Motorists can expect various lanes closed on the Donner Park Overcrossing from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday and Tuesday. A contractor is scheduled for a grinding operation.

Interstate 80 (Nevada County) on the Monte Vista overcrossing: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 12:01 a.m. Monday through 8 a.m. Friday. A contractor is scheduled for bridge work.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) on the Russell Road overcrossing: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday through Friday. A contractor is scheduled for bridge work.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) at Bowman: Motorists can expect the east and westbound #3 lane closed from 10 a.m. Sunday through 11 a.m. Friday. A contractor is scheduled to do miscellaneous work.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) from State Route 193 to Gold Run: Motorists can expect various east and westbound lane closures from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous maintenance work.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) from Gold Run to Nyack: Motorists can expect various east and westbound lanes closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday. A Caltrans crew is scheduled to do miscellaneous maintenance work.

Interstate 80 (Placer County) from Alta to Drum: Motorists can expect various east and westbound lane and ramp closures from 12:01 a.m. Monday through 8 a.m. Friday. A contractor is scheduled for grinding operations.

State Route 89 (Placer County) from Squaw Valley Road to the Nevada County line: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 7 p.m. to 2 p.m. (noon Friday) Sunday through Thursday. A contractor is scheduled to do miscellaneous construction work. Motorists can expect delays of approximately 20 minutes.

State Route 174 (Nevada County) at various locations from the Bear River Bridge to the Highway 49: Motorists can expect one-way traffic controls from 12 a.m. Sunday through 11:59 p.m. Saturday. A contractor is scheduled to do grinding and paving work.
